ONLINE CLASSES: If you live within 20 miles of the campus, we encourage you to attend classes in person. For those who cannot attend in person, please note that any registrations for online classes made after 4:00pm daily will be processed the next business day. If you registered after 4:00pm, you will have access to the class(es) the next business day. Classes will not be recorded.

This course is all about physical, spiritual, emotional and relationship healing by the power of God’s love and His Holy Spirit. Our Ministry group is called “Love Never Fails.” We have many people coming to the group that are in need of love and prayer and growth in Christ. Please join us!
(2 Units of Credit for attending and participating and completing course requirements).
You will learn lasting biblical principles and prayer strategies on overcoming abuse, trauma, grief, rejection, loss of hope, shame, guilt, condemnation, etc, and how to minister to people going through these things. We also continue to minister recovery to anyone in addiciton or sinful habits they want to be free of. We also are partnering with Harbor/UCLA Medical Center’s Chaplain Ministry where they send us those coming out of the hospital and needing prayer and we also minister to their family members in their time of grief and worry.
Sharon and Pastor Paul will work with you on your spiritual gifts and calling so you can grow in those. We all receive from and give to the Lord and others at this ministry. You will receive Holy Spirit-led ministry and grow in your spiritual gifts and experience as a prayer minister of healing and restoration for those in need.

MONDAY (6:40- 8:10 pm) How to Interpret the Book of Revelation (2 units)

The Book of Revelation is an amazing book and we want to do our best to rightly divide the Word of Truth. There is no other book like it since it is a prophecy, an apocalypse (an unveiling of a mystery), and a circular letter, three in one! In order to understand and thereby rightly interpret the Book of Revelation, we must dig deeply into the prophetic treasure of the Old Testament where the apostle John draws over 70% of his prophetic vision and symbolism from. Books such as Daniel, Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Zechariah (to name a few) are the very foundation of end times prophecy. The difference though, is that in Daniel the prophet is commanded to close the end times prophecy and seal it whereas in Revelation, John is told that the Lamb is the One who can open the sealed revelation and tell us great and mighty things we did not know! What a privilege.
In this course, we will discuss the theology of the Book of Revelation and its foundation in the Old Testament and discover the meaning of the prophecy for those who lived among the seven churches in Asia in the first century and for those who live in the end times. We will use proper hermeneutics (the art and science of biblical interpretation) to draw out the true meaning and ask how it applies to our lives in the days to come. Please join us!

Jesus began His ministry with His greatest sermon, known as “The Sermon on the Mount.” It introduced the basis of His eternal kingdom that He came to bring to earth. In this Sermon Jesus teaches on what it means to live as people of God’s kingdom. He reveals the deeper intent of the Law: that anger is murder, that lust is adultery, etc. He call us to live lives that shine as salt and light in the world. He also gives practical guidance for everyday faith—how to go the second mile, and how to pray, trusting in the Father.
After giving us the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said, “Everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house upon the rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock” (Matthew 7:24-25). In this course you will learn how to build your life upon Jesus’ words so that you will never fall.
Character Development is a series of courses on the most important quality of a Christian – character. It’s what Jesus commended in the wise man who builds his house upon the rock (Matthew 7:24), and the very opposite of the hypocrisy Jesus condemned in the religious leaders of His day. God wants us to walk in victory and become like His Son, Jesus Christ (Romans 8:28-29). Learning all about the Lord and the Bible is great. Learning to minister in power is wonderful. But if we do not develop His character we will eventually get shot down by the world, the flesh, or the devil. God has definite steps to achieve victory in each area of our lives and the 12 Character Development courses are where you’ll learn them.

In this course, we will go through the book of 1 Corinthians chapter-by-chapter discovering the in-depth teaching and instruction of the Apostle Paul to the church at Corinth. Many facets and issues of Christian living are explored. We will work to understand the culture, context and history of the church at Corinth, if and why their problems and situations have any parallel with ours today, and then make practical applications for us here and now.
It is important to understand what Paul is saying and how we can understand it for ourselves so that we can teach this text in its proper context and minister in the power of the Holy Spirit according to the will of God. It will be exciting to take a fresh and practical look at this very important letter and how it can change our lives and the lives of those we teach and minister to.

With Southern California being the Ellis Island of the 21st Century, we are surrounded by many different faiths from all over the world. How do we respond when a Muslim asks us what we believe? What do we say when a Mormon comes to our door? Do the Jehovah’s Witnesses really believe all those things? Why don’t the Jews accept Jesus as the Messiah? How is God asking us to answer them?
These questions and many more will be addressed as we study Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Confucianism, Mormonism, Jehovah’s Witnesses, and some of the Mind Sciences.
Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” This course will give you a basic understanding of some of the world’s most popular religions and convince you that Christianity is God’s only way of enjoying a relationship with Him forever.
Each section will cover a brief history, the doctrinal beliefs, and then a comparison of Christianity to each religion studied in the course. Some will be contrasted in the syllabus notes while others will be discussed openly during the quarter.

Teach us to number our days aright, that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12).
This course is a survey of the four Old Testament Wisdom Books—Proverbs, Job, Song of Solomon, and Ecclesiastes. Israel’s teachers looked out on a world abounding with menace and proclaimed wisdom to be key to a successful life. Wise persons recognize that both good times and bad times have their uses in the economy of God (Ece. 7:13-14). Where the bulk of the Old Testament calls us simply to believe and to obey, the wisdom books summon us to think hard as well as humbly; to keep our eyes open, to use our conscience and our common sense, and to not evade the most disturbing questions. In submission to God’s authority and majesty (that is, in the fear of the Lord) we start and continue our education; and by the diligent search for wisdom, we shall find our prize in a growing intimacy with the Lord Jesus, “in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge” (Col. 2:3). God gives wisdom, but the wisdom books teach us that we must search for it “like hidden treasure,” as if our lives depended on it. No price is too high for this “pearl of great price.” A person does not drift into wisdom; deliberate decision to begin and constant attention is required, like learning a foreign language or learning to play a musical instrument. In this course we will experience for ourselves that wisdom is not content to leave us as we are, but insists that we allow ourselves to be transformed by the power of God, as we navigate life with its enigmas, joys, perils, sorrows, and strange twists and turns.
“Blessed is the one who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold. She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her.” (Prov. 3:13).

Evangelism – Field Experience (2 units)
The word “evangelism” means taking the good news about salvation through Jesus Christ to other people. Jesus came to preach the gospel to the poor, and He is still doing that today through us, because we are His body (1 Corinthians 12:27). How do we learn to evangelize? Mainly by doing it. This is a “field experience” course, which involves witnessing for at least one and a half hours a week, turning in weekly lists of the people witnessed to, reading a missionary book (supplied) and writing five pages of notes on it.

El Desarrollo del Carácter es un Curso práctico donde la fe y creencias cristianas son aplicadas en las situaciones reales de la vida diaria. Dios desea que Su Pueblo realmente venga a ser semejante a Cristo, no solo creer ciertas doctrinas o acumular una cabeza llena de información. Sin embargo, vivir lo que creemos puede ser difícil en el día de hoy.
En el Desarrollo del Carácter no solo miramos a las diferentes situaciones de la vida y aprendemos maneras de manejarlas, sino que también vamos mas profundo en comprender como se desarrolla el amor genuino y la virtud en nuestro ser interno, a fin de vivir como cristianos genuinos todo el tiempo y no solo los domingos.
Este trimestre nos llevará a un nivel más profundo de crecimiento espiritual y transformación personal. Exploraremos cómo vencer la tentación y apropiarnos de las promesas de Dios, cómo convertir los desafíos y desiertos de la vida en oportunidades de bendición, y cómo tomar decisiones guiadas por el Espíritu. También aprenderemos a evitar la religiosidad, a cultivar un corazón humilde y arrepentido, y a vivir en victoria sobre la carne. Todo esto con el propósito de avanzar en el proceso de conquistar nuestra “tierra prometida” —una vida plena y madura en Cristo.

Todos queremos saber quienes somos, saber de que se trata la vida, y la razón por la que fuimos creados. Como seres humanos, anhelamos entender el propósito y el significado de la vida. Podemos encontrar estas respuestas y mucho mas en la emocionante Epístola a los Romanos.
La Epístola a los Romanos, el libro más importante del apóstol Pablo, está colocada primero en la colección de trece epístolas del Nuevo Testamento. Mientras que los cuatro evangelios nos presentan las palabras y la obra de nuestro Señor Jesucristo, Romanos explora el significado de su muerte sacrificial. Usando un método de preguntas y respuestas, el apóstol Pablo escribió la presentación más sistemática de doctrina en la Biblia. Pero Romanos es mas que formulas doctrinales para creer, Romanos implica también una vida que se debe vivir – la vida de justicia que corresponde a las personas quienes han sido “justificados gratuitamente por su gracia por medio de la redención que es en Cristo Jesús” (Ro. 3:24).
Venga y aprendamos juntos acerca del don gratuito que Dios nos ha dado y del poder que Dios nos ha otorgado por medio de su Hijo, el cual produce una vida triunfante, llena de propósito y de carácter eterno para todos aquellos que creen.
“Porque no me avergüenzo del evangelio, pues es el poder de Dios para la salvación de todo el que cree… Porque si por la transgresión de uno, por éste reinó la muerte, mucho más reinarán en vida por medio de uno, Jesucristo, los que reciben la abundancia de la gracia y del don de la justicia” (Ro. 1:16; 5:17).

MARTES (6:40–8:10 PM) El Dilemma de la Violencia Divina

Aunque el tema principal de la Biblia es el amor de Dios y la redención de la humanidad, sí nos encontramos con algunas porciones de la Escritura que son muy difíciles de conciliar. Hay pasajes donde vemos “violencia divina,” con Dios causando directamente dolor, enfermedad o muerte sobre aquellos que están siendo juzgados. Hombres, mujeres y niños mueren ahogados en el Diluvio. Otros son muertos al instante por ofrecer fuego extraño, por intentar sostener el Arca, o por mentir acerca de una ofrenda de la iglesia. Al final, miles de millones son afligidos en el Lago de Fuego.
Sabemos que Dios es un Dios de amor, pero ¿cómo hacemos sentido de estos pasajes? ¿No contradicen la vida y las enseñanzas de Jesús, quien amó y perdonó a sus enemigos en lugar de herirlos o matarlos? ¿Son justos y equitativos estos castigos? ¿Realmente corresponden a los pecados cometidos?
Recientemente, muchos teólogos han rechazado estas descripciones de Dios como inmorales, injustas, inexactas y contrarias a la revelación plena de Dios en Cristo. Pero ¿podemos realmente ignorar estos pasajes si forman parte de la Escritura? ¿Deseas ser el ser una persona con el corazón de Dios?, ¿alguien que conoce su voluntad y la sigue?, ¿un discípulo de Cristo que vive para ser una lumbrera de la imagen de Dios?. ¿Has deseado el encontrar un modelo que refleje esto en otra persona? Ciertamente Jesús es el ejemplo de una persona que tenía el corazón de Dios y que seguía su voluntad. Pero antes de Jesús, había un hombre llamado David, el cual es un gran modelo de esto. Dios mismo dice: “ Después de quitarlo, les levantó por rey a David, del cual Dios también testificó y dijo: “HE HALLADO A DAVID, hijo de Isaí, UN HOMBRE CONFORME A MI CORAZON, que hará toda mi voluntad.”
“¿no sería maravilloso que Dios dijera lo mismo de tu vida, que el viera que vives en una manera en la cual El es primero en tu vida?
Bueno, si este es tu deseo, preparate para una gran aventura en la cual aprenderás como convertirte en la persona que busca y encuentra a Dios. Alguien que a pesar de enfrentarse a la adversidad,, tentaciones o a la toma de grandes desiciones o simplemente las situaciones díarias, busca que Dios este a su lado.
Una parte muy interesante de 1 Samuel es el ver como actuan los tres personajes principales: El profeta Samuel, El rey Saul y el rey David. Esta es la história de tres gigantes. Uno de ellos nos enseña acerca de la rectitud y la audacidad en medio de la obscuridad espiritual. Otro nos enseña acerca de el precio de la desobediencia, el miedo a el hombre y el orgullo. El último nos enseña acerca de el aferrarse a Dios cuando todo el mundo se desmorona alrededor tuyo. ¡Que lecciones! ¡Que libro!

El libro de Apocalipsis en un libro fascinante y a la vez desconcertante. Es el libro más oscuro y controversial de la Biblia. Aquellos que estudian el libro de Apocalipsis con cuidado, están de acuerdo que es una fuente única de enseñanza cristiana y una de relevancia eterna. Es el único libro en la Biblia que promete una bendición a aquellos que lo leen (Apocalipsis 1:3). Con excepción de los Evangelios, Apocalipsis es la enseñanza más profunda y conmovedora en la adoración cristiana y discipulado encontrada en cualquier parte de las Sagradas Escrituras. “Ningún pasaje en el Nuevo Testamento”, dice John Stott, “contiene instrucción más clara, concisa y comprensiva para la vida y la obra de la Iglesia que el libro de Apocalipsis”. Escrito para motivar a los cristianos amenazado por la persecución, nos muestra el funcionamiento en el mundo desde la perspectiva de Dios. Dios convirtió al enemigo principal del cristianismo, Saulo de Tarso, en el gran apóstol Pablo. Pablo escribió más libros del Nuevo Testamento que cualquier otro autor y moldeó la fe cristiana de una manera única, siendo superado solo por Jesucristo mismo. Sus cartas contienen algunas de las expresiones más profundas, prácticas y transformadoras del evangelio, y han guiado a la Iglesia durante casi dos mil años.
En este curso se estudiará la vida, el llamamiento y la misión de Pablo, así como el mundo histórico y cultural en el que ministró. A lo largo del primer trimestre, exploraremos sus viajes misioneros, las circunstancias que rodearon su ministerio, y las primeras y mayores epístolas—desde Gálatas y Tesalonicenses hasta Romanos y Corintios—proporcionando una sólida introducción al contenido principal de sus escritos.
Durante el segundo trimestre, examinaremos su correspondencia desde la prisión (Efesios, Colosenses, Filipenses y Filemón), así como las epístolas pastorales dirigidas a Timoteo y Tito. La palabra “evangelismo” significa llevar las Buenas Nuevas de salvación a través de Jesucristo a otras personas. Jesús vino para predicar el evangelio a los pobres, y Él continua haciéndolo hasta el día de hoy a través de nuestras bocas, ya que nosotros somos Su Cuerpo (1 Cor. 12:27). Cómo podremos aprender a evangelizar? Primeramente, haciéndolo! Esta clase es un “campo para experimentar.” Cada estudiante establece un programa de evangelismo semanal, regularmente realizado en su propia iglesia, entonces viene al director de la Universidad para trabajar bajo un plan supervisado.
